Wind Ensemble

The Wind Ensemble is the highest auditioned ensemble at Cambridge High School.  Auditions are conducted the previous spring and are open to all 9-12 band students with experience on their instrument and in good standing in the Cambridge Bands or current band program.  Students are expected to maintain a high standard of excellence in preparation, daily rehearsals, and performance.  The performance schedule will include 3-4 concerts each semester and will involve before/after school rehearsals.  Attendance is always required and is part of the students’ grade.

Symphonic Band

Concert Band 

The Concert Band is a non-auditioned ensemble at Cambridge High School open to 9-12 students.

Current band students must be in good standing in the Cambridge Bands or current band program.

Students are expected to maintain a high standard of excellence in preparation, daily rehearsals, and

performance. The performance schedule will include 2-3 concerts each semester and will involve

Percussion Ensemble

The Percussion Ensemble is offered to enhance a student’s current musical ability with rigorous fundamentals and small chamber performance opportunities, as well as performing with Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble.  Placement is based on spring auditions open to all 9-12 band students with experience on their instrument and in good standing in the Cambridge Bands or current band program.  Students are expected to maintain a high standard of excellence in preparation, daily rehearsals, and performance.  The performance schedule will include 2-3 concerts each semester and will involve before/after school rehearsals.  Attendance is always required and is part of the students’ grade.

Jazz Lab

Jazz Lab is a non-auditioned class focused on developing jazz musicianship and performance

skills. Students learn jazz technique, repertoire, and improvisation. The performance schedule

will include 1-2 concerts each semester and may involve before/after school rehearsals.
